Heart-Beat(e) is mostly a German blog, but once in a while some new English blog articles will also get published here.
While my German blog articles mostly cover stories about refugees, my volunteering experience with refugees and articles confronting xenophobia, racism and ignorance, the English blog articles also cover the Brexit issue due to my background:
Almost half of my life I lived in England (Swindon) and USA (Denver, Colorado) and half of my family and friends still live in the UK.
The referendum and upcoming BREXIT hit so very close to me and my family and while I originally only wanted to publish short stories, like Beating the demons which I wrote, when I still lived in England, I just had to also get a little bit more politically by writing down my disbelief, frustration, helplessness and open questions in order to somewhat cope with it.
So here are the few English language articles /stories/ thoughts from me which I have written so far.
